Our Policy

The Codes are our DNA. They cannot be altered, changed or diluted. Adherence to the Code of Conduct promotes a culture of responsible behaviour and helps building sound and transparent business practices across the company. Adherence to the Code of Conduct promotes a culture of responsible behaviour and helps building sound and transparent business practices across the company. The codes emphasize that failure to perform on business targets can be excused but there will never be a compromise on integrity related issues.

Each employee working for Telenor has a responsibility to read, understand, respect and follow the Codes in latter and spirit. Employees are also expected to contribute their bit towards the goal of building an organizational culture based on fairness, equality, transparency and trust by reporting any suspected violations to the Ethics & Compliance Officer.

The Code of Conduct is divided into 5 sections. The various provisions of the Codes are further explained under 24 sub-sections.

Telenor is certified for Social Accountability standard

(SA 8000), the first and the only telecom service provider globally to get certified. Telenor ensures that there are no Child labour, Forced or bonded labours in their workforce engaged directly or indirectly. Telenor also ensures that the entire supply chain compliances with the National Law, respect Human Rights, Adhere to the Labour Standards, maintain Highest standards of Health, Safety, Working Environment and prohibits Corruption, Bribery, Money laundering, anti-competitive activities and ensures a strict regime on Gifts and Hospitality expenses.

Health & Safety

Sustainability is the sum of systematic activities that are performed in order to strive towards excellent HSSE (Health, Safety Social Security & Environment) performance within Telenor and towards responsible business conduct in the Supply chain. Sustainability in Telenor consists of Supply Chain Sustainability, Environment, KPI reporting, Human Rights, Integrity Due Diligence, Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Incidents handling.

The Key activities of Sustainability in Telenor are:

1. Drive continual improvement in the Supply chain on responsible business conduct and HSSE Capacity Building
2. Set conduct requirements towards Suppliers through ABC / SCP agreements
3. Monitor and follow-up of Suppliers through regular on-site inspections, self assessments, Corporate Sustainability Assessments, etc
4. Drive continual improvement internally in the areas of HSSE
5. Implement and sustain an Integrated HSSE Management System (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, PAS 99 and SA 8000)
6. Measure HSSE performance through KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and drive improvements
7. Foster consistent HSSE leadership and culture, with organizational awareness, training and promotional initiatives
8. Carry out and review Human Rights issues through due diligence process
9. Manage Crisis and ensure Business Continuity through effective handling of incidents and threats
10. Identify hazards, assess risks, monitor and mitigate to prevent accidental injuries and occupational diseases
